Janique Spence Smith

Janique Spence-Smith, affectionately known as Ms. Jaie, is the passionate founder of Little Lions of Judah (LLOJ). With over 13 years of hands-on experience in early childhood education, she has dedicated her life to nurturing and inspiring young minds. Born and raised in New York City, Ms. Jaie has lived in Utah and Georgia before settling in Maryland in 2019, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and a deep-rooted love for children.

Her journey began in the medical field as a Nurse Assistant, where she served for eight years before transitioning to childcare—a calling sparked by the birth of her son, Judah. Inspired by the love and dedication she felt as a first-time mother, she founded Little Lions of Judah in 2012 with the mission of providing a home away from home for children. Her passion lies in sowing seeds of faith, kindness, and excellence, creating a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive.

Ms. Jaie holds certifications in Early Childhood Education and CPR/First Aid. Over the years, she has worked at a top childcare facility in Maryland, specializing in curriculum development and building strong, supportive parent-teacher relationships. She is a trusted caregiver and advocate for inclusive learning, committed to helping every child reach their full potential through structured play, love, and faith-based values

Lions of Judah was founded on Matthew 18:1–6

1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them.

3 And he said “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

6 If anyone causes one of these little ones those who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”
